MDP students

MDP Associate Director, Dr Carla Roncoli, spent July traveling to Burkina Faso and Ethiopia for research. During the trip she visited MDP students who were serving as interns with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), one of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research centers. Stephanie Stawicki and Kalie Lasiter worked with IWMI in northern Ghana on the role of informal social networks and formal institutions in water governance. Jimmy Ramsey and Anna Tarrant conducted research in Ethiopia on farmers' adoption of rainwater conservation technologies. Dr. Roncoli herself collaborates with IWMI in her research on water resource management in Burkina Faso which is funded by the National Science Foundation. The research in Ethiopia was part of a USAID-funded project on Climate Variability, Pastoralism, and Commodity Chains, led by MDP Faculty Advisory Board member, Prof. Peter Little.
