Rebeca Quintana, a native of Mexico City, joined the MDP Team in May 2010. She obtained a Certificat d'Etudes Francaises at the Institut d'Etudes Francaises de Touraine in Tours, France, before attending the University of Florida where she received her bachelor degree with honors in Anthropology and a Latin American Studies Certificate. Rebeca also completed graduate coursework in cultural anthropology at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, and lived for three months with the Miskito Indians of Haulover, Nicaragua. She has held several positions at Emory University, including Reserves Coordinator, Robert W. Woodruff Library; Program Coordinator, Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program; Academic Department Administrator, Office of International and Summer Programs; and Program Associate for the States at Regional Risk Project, a Carnegie funded initiative within the Department of Anthropology. A loyal member of the Gator Nation, Rebeca enjoys traveling, hiking the Appalachian Trail, and spending time with family and friends.
