GUIDELINES

  • Participants must be current MDP students and photos must be taken in the course of the field practicum during the summer preceding the photocontest.

  • Each participant may submit as many photos as they wish (in any format), but should indicate their "top three" for each category. 

  • Participants may adjust their photos for brightness, color, contrast, and light cropping. Photos may not be adjusted in a way that affects their authenticity.
  • Each photo must be high resolution so it can be printed for display.
  • To be eligible for a prize, a photo must be conceived and framed by the participant who submits it and must be taken with his/her own camera.

  • If a student is depicted in a winning photo that was taken by another student it is up to those students to agree on whether and how to share the prize.

  • Participants in the MDP photo contest may also chose to enter the Global Health Institute photography contest.

  • Participants must sign a release giving permission to the MDP and Emory University to use the submitted photos for communication and education purposes.

  • Participants must adhere to and photographs must comply with ethical principles of photography in development practice : http://www.dochas.ie/code/
  • Photos will be judged within one of two categories (participants can submit photos to both and there will be winners for each category): Our Field Experience and My Vantage Point.
