BoyBoyuan is a PhD candidate at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). She received her Master’s degree in administrative law from CUPL in 2011.
From 2011 to 2012, Boyuan assisted Professor Ma Huaide, one of China’s leading administrative law scholars, with a project titled, Administrative Enforcement of Regulations for Fujian Province. The project examined ways of protecting citizens’ rights through the restriction of public power. During this project, Boyuan’s work consisted of conducting investigations, writing reports, organizing conferences, and completing three chapters of the project draft.
Boyuan’s research at Emory focused on state obligations concerning women’s social welfare. She engaged in a comparative study of American and Chinese law in which she uses vulnerability theory to investigate the relationship between women’s social welfare and government obligations.
