Graham Ferris has been teaching and researching in law in higher education institutions for over a quarter of a century. He has published on property law, legal history, legal ethics, and legal education. His book ‘Uses of Values in Legal Education’ synthesis his recent work in legal education and legal ethics. He is currently an Associate Professor at Nottingham Trent University Law School in the UK. Vulnerability is an exciting conceptual base for jurisprudence and educational theory as it opens up a number of avenues for exploration. Graham believes much of Western philosophy and jurisprudence is a flight from vulnerability, and only by making universal human vulnerability a central concern can we overcome long-standing obstructions to understanding. Graham has taught the jurisprudence developed by Professor Fineman for several years at undergraduate level, and is eager to explore the ramifications of her theory as a visiting scholar at Emory and beyond. He is currently working on two projects that engage with vulnerability theory with colleagues at his Law School associated with the Centre for Legal Education.
