RANDY MARTIN
Principal, Randall Martin LLC
Randy Martin is a seasoned professional with more than 40 years of experience in business and management consulting. His areas of expertise include: strategic planning; organization design; leadership engagement, coaching and development; management team effectiveness; human capital management; and organization change management. Randy works primarily with non-profit organizations undertaking complex transformation initiatives and brings his expertise to coach C-level executives and their teams to improve organizational performance and accelerate achievement of strategic goals and desired impacts.
Randy has been very active in the non-profit arena throughout his career. In 2015, he established his own consultancy to focus on delivering his areas of expertise to the non-profit, charitable and social enterprise sectors. A sample of the national clients he has served include: The YMCA of the USA, Independent Sector, Feeding America, the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the Boys and Girls Club of America and AARP. Randy has also served a wide variety of clients in the greater Atlanta area. In addition to serving clients, he participates on several non-profit boards and as a member of the national Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Leadership Council of the YMCA of the USA.
Randy is also an adjunct faculty member in Organization and Management at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He has lectured on topics such as Leadership, Human Capital Strategy and Management, Organization Behavior and Management, Management Consulting, and Catalyzing Social Impact. In addition, Randy is the Non-Profit Initiative Leader for Social Enterprise @ Goizueta, an academic center that applies business acumen and market-based solutions to achieve meaningful and enduring societal impact. In this role, he convenes and moderates a series of panel discussions throughout the academic year with nonprofit organizations to address emerging trends and issues in the field.
Prior to forming his own consulting practice, Randy was a principal for 20 years with Deloitte Consulting LLP, practicing in the Human Capital service area. Randy supported the efforts of Fortune 500 companies and other organizations to implement major strategy shifts necessary to meet the changing demands of their business or mission. He has extensive global experience with large-scale transformation projects and has led global teams and delivered projects in Latin America, Europe and Asia. Randy has also worked with social enterprises in the U.S. and Central America and, most recently, advised on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures in the United States, Mexico, Germany and India.
While at Deloitte, Randy led a variety of pro bono initiatives supporting non-profits such as the YMCA of the USA and several Atlanta-based organizations. He was also a regular participant in Deloitte’s Center for Leadership and Community, delivering a variety of skills-based workshops for non-profit senior executives and leaders in the greater Atlanta area. Finally, Randy was invited to participate with the YMCA in the Champions of Change program, a day-long series of panel discussions at the White House on the topics of social responsibility and diversity.
Randy held a variety of leadership roles during his tenure at Deloitte. He served on the U.S. Human Capital Leadership Committee and was U.S. and Global Human Capital Industry Leader for the Consumer Business Industry practice. He also served as a regional Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) leader and as a member of the National D&I Council for Consulting. In these roles, Randy designed and launched mentoring programs for diverse practitioners within the firm as well as led internal career sponsorship programs focused on the professional development of diverse staff.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Randy was the national practice director for change management at KPMG. In addition, he previously worked for several boutique consulting firms that specialized in developing marketing strategies for technology companies in the computer and telecommunications industries.
Randy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Sociology and a minor in Political Science from Georgetown University. He also holds a M.A. degree from Harvard University in the same discipline. He has been both a National Science Foundation Fellow as well as an American Sociological Foundation Fellow. Finally, Randy obtained a Certificate of Organization Design from the Center for Effective Organizations at the Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California).
