MDP Student Kunal Patel participated in the Ethics & the Arts Initiative of Emory University, a social engagement project funded by Southwest Airlines. The project — the first of its kind offered through the Emory Center for Ethics – involved Emory students, Atlanta artists, and community leaders working together to create socially engaged artwork that helps raise public awareness for Atlanta-based nonprofits. Kunal’s team produced an art installment for "Trees Atlanta", using fabric prints to virtually "plant trees where it is not possible to do so," such as in indoor public spaces. Kunal contributed to printmaking by helping design the pattern which was then carved into a woodblock and printed over canvas.
