JOANNA HILLMAN
Owner and Principal Evaluator, Hillman Associates, LLC
JoAnna Hillman, MPH, is the Owner and Principal Evaluator for Hillman Associates, LLC, a consulting firm providing customized and comprehensive evaluation services and technical assistance for public health and healthcare programs. She has over 20 years of experience in program evaluation for clients ranging from local nonprofits to universities and national organizations. JoAnna is passionate about teaching others in a fun and engaging way, and helping others develop their careers. Her professional interests include program evaluation of health workforce development programs, quality and process improvement, and evaluation capacity building.
JoAnna is the former Director of the Center for Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement (PEQI) within the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Prior to joining Emory, JoAnna worked for the CDC as a Health Scientist in Informatics in the Division of Global HIV/AIDS. JoAnna has state and local public health experience working on complex interagency initiatives for health indicator improvement, worksite health, outbreak and emergency response planning, and informatics. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Science and Services from the University of Rhode Island, earned a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University, and has completed additional graduate coursework in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. JoAnna often guest blogs for the American Evaluation Association's AEA365 and teaches at the Summer Evaluation Institute. She lives in Pittsburgh, PA and spends her free time exploring the outdoors with her family and two dogs.
