Being a STEM classified degree, Emory MDP enables its international students to work in the US for up to 3 years after graduation without employer sponsorship.

Natalia RezkProject Coordinator at TEPHINET, The Task Force for Global Health
Originally from Colombia, Natalia supports the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Global Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET) at the Task Force for Global Health, a non-profit devoted to eliminating disease and strengthening health systems worldwide. Natalia's professional experience includes work with the Bogotá City Council, the Universidad de Los Andes and the US Institute of Peace. She is also a certified Leadership Coach, a skill that she applies to create safer environments and contribute to post-conflict reconciliation. While at Emory, Natalia served as an EDGE Ambassador, engaging in initiatives to promote inclusiveness in graduate education. “My experience at Emory was one of a kind. I found myself immersed in a community that made me feel at home" says Natalia. "I was also able to draw on my passion for youth engagement in serving as instructor for an undergraduate course on community transformation. A very rewarding experience that was made possible by the support of the MDP faculty.” |
Melania CroceSupply Chain Sustainability Program Manager, Dell Technologies
Melania currently works as Dell Technologies to support the company’s goal of using responsibly sourced and recycled materials. A native Italian, she spent her childhood in Mozambique, a formative experience that shaped her interest in development. Prior to coming to Emory, Melania received a master’s in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Supply Chain Management from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and a master’s in Economics and Management from Tongji University in Shanghai (China). While in MDP, Melania interned with the Carter Center Democracy program, including a summer field practicum in Nepal. “At Emory, I focused my studies on the intersections of gender empowerment and impact measurement across sectors" Melania asserts, "The experience and knowledge gained through MDP classes and practical learning experiences and the professionals I met at Emory continue to influence, inform, and inspire me in my daily work in the area of social and environmental responsibility.” |
Fiona CooperSenior Knowledge Manager, Laureus Sport for Good Professional Rugby Player
Fiona hails from Fife, Scotland and works at Laureus, an international non-profit and that supports more than 275 programs in 50+ countries, that use the power of sport to transform lives. Fiona is responsible for Laureus’ global impact assessment, including conducting research on the role of sport in social change, training local partners in rigorous monitoring and evaluation approaches, and tracking progress towards the Global Goals. Fiona's MDP experience laid the foundation for this work by way of a summer field practicum with Laos Rugby, an affiliate of Women Win. Besides working with Laureus, Fiona is urrently a professional rugby player for Trailfinders Rugby in London and the Scotland National Team. “MDP provided me with unique practical experiences which cemented my passion for sports for development” remarks Fiona, "Even more critically, MDP challenged my assumptions about the development sector. Even now, I am constantly drawing on these lessons while working with other like-minded people to forge new pathways that disrupt neo-colonial structures". |
